Review: The Apples of Idunn

The Apples of Idunn The Apples of Idunn by Matt Larkin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Apples of Idunn by Matt Larkin is the first installment in The Ragnarok Era series. Odin swears vengeance against the frost giant who killed his father.

Plot 5/5: Excellent plot involving Odin of Norse mythology.

Characters 5/5: Vivid and vibrant characters throughout the story.

World building 5/5: Incredible world building that takes you directly into the world the author has created.

Pacing 5/5: Full of action, betrayal, loyalty, friendship, brotherhood, and love and sex (a bit descriptive, and visually vivid).

Writing 5/5: A few typos, but not in any way did it interfere with the story.

Overall 5 stars

I highly recommend this book to anyone into Odin or Norse mythology.

Review: Pentacle

Pentacle Pentacle by William Meikle
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Pentacle by William Meikle is one of the books in the Sigils and Totems series, but it can be read as a stand alone. There is something eerie about Edinburgh house. A creature, perhaps?

Plot 4/5: Interesting plot

Characters 4/5: The characters were fleshed out, and interesting.

World building 4/5: Everything happened within Edinburgh house.

Pacing 4/5: A little slower than some of the author's other books.

Writing 5/5: William Meikle's writing is always good.

Overall 4.2

Review: The Hole

The Hole The Hole by William Meikle
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Hole by William Meikle is a story about a peculiar hum which brings headaches and nosebleeds to a small, country town.

Plot 5/5: A very interesting plot which I have never read about.

Characters 5/5: The author doesn't give a whole lot of descriptions as to what his characters may be like, but he definitely brings them to life.

World building 5/5: Again, not a lot of descriptions, but you feel as though you are in the world his books are set in.

Pacing 5/5: Steady pace with bursts of action.

Writing 5/5: Great writing, and hardly any typos.

Overall 5/5

William Meikle is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. With his writing style and his imagination, I know I will not be disappointed.

I won this book in a giveaway.
